Over the past century the club has grown around rugby, community and the many friendships formed on and off the field. We can’t wait for you to share our celebrations with us!!
Generations of players have represented Tomarata at both senior and junior level, while many others have supported the club from the sidelines or behind the scenes. Tomarata has always been about more than just the game. It’s a place where families stay connected and people from across the district come together. To celebrate the milestone, the club will host its Centenary Weekend from 8–10 May 2026, bringing together past and present players, supporters and volunteers. The weekend will include rugby, plenty of time to reconnect and the chance to celebrate the people who have made Tomarata Rugby what it is today.
The celebrations will reflect what Tomarata has always been about, good rugby, good people and a relaxed social atmosphere. Whether you played senior or junior rugby, helped behind the scenes, supported from the sidelines or were simply part of the club community, we hope you can join us to celebrate this special milestone.
WHATS ON OVER THE WEEKEND?
8th May 7.30pm - Mix and Mingle
9th May 11am - Celebratory Lunch (Speeches followed by lunch)
9th May 5pm - After Match Hangi and Open Floor to share memories
9th May 8pm - After Match Part at the Club - not keen on dancing club will be open for all.
10th May 10.30am - Final Morning Events and Goodbyes

SHARE YOUR MEMORIES
We are collecting photos, stories and memories from across the clubs history. If you have old team photos, newspaper articles, or yarns from your time involved with Tomarata Rugby or Tomarata Tag we would love to include them in the Centenary celebrations or add to our book. Maybe you weren’t directly involved by you heard stories from parents or grandparents, or maybe you were the opposition, again would love to hear from you. Keep them coming.
